LITE® INERTIA Base Edition – Low-Friction Flywheel Training Platform

Train against one of the lowest-friction impact flywheels available with INERTIA by LITE® — a compact, Italian-designed flywheel platform with an integrated resistance change system. Built for trainers and athletes, INERTIA is a flywheel platform that generates resistance through the inertia and kinetic energy of a spinning flywheel.

INERTIA is composed of a rotational shaft, to which both a rope and a flywheel are attached. As the rope is unrolled from the shaft during a concentric movement, the inertia and kinetic energy of the spinning flywheel causes the rope to roll back in the opposite direction — requiring an eccentric action to decelerate the rope and begin the next cycle. If the rope is decelerated faster than it was accelerated, muscles can be eccentrically overloaded to drive higher training stimulus.

Resistance increases with exercise speed, so it can be modulated rep-to-rep and adjusted for increased fatigue — making INERTIA well-suited for sport-specific movements involving high deceleration forces.

1. Speed-Dependent Variable Resistance — With the same inertia, resistance varies with exercise speed: the faster the pull, the greater the resistance. During the eccentric phase, INERTIA returns the same energy applied during the concentric phase — so decelerating faster than accelerating produces an eccentric overload.
