Handcrafted in San Diego, this cold plunge tub is made from selected redwood and arrives completely set up. The system is simple to maintain and requires only a standard 110V electrical connection. Kooru goes further in every tub built and every step of the manufacturing process — from hand-selecting every board to carefully firing and sanding each one in the Japanese tradition of Shou Sugi Ban, a method used to protect wood for centuries.

The result is an unmatched depth of color in the wood and exposed grain — a finish that reflects the same principle behind the practice itself: good stress makes you stronger, just as cold water acts as a hormetic stressor on the body.

Description

• Size is approximately 64" L x 34" W x 35" H. At least 33 inches of clearance through doors and/or passages is needed to move the tub to its location. Due to the handcrafted nature of these tubs, dimensions may have subtle variances in length and width up to ¼".
• Weight is around 400 lbs (can be moved and lifted by grabbing the corner posts, with two people or moving trolleys).
• Holds approximately 60 gallons of water. Water height is adjustable based on body displacement and desired depth — some prefer it just above the shoulders, though neck/chin height is easily reachable.
• Chiller pump is 1/4 HP, 950 GPH.
• Water sanitation/treatment is by an Ozonator emitting O3.
• Typical power usage is 350–500 watts at 3–5 amps on a regular 110-volt plug. Electrical outlets should be GFCI or grounded outlets as required by state laws.
• Tub compartment size is 36"L x 24"W x 30"H. The tub is high-density polyurethane, custom-manufactured to spec.
• Filter changing/replacement is approximately every 1–2 months, depending on usage.
• Production time is approximately 2 weeks; shipping is based on location and typically adds another 2 weeks or so.
